Keeping It Simple, Widika and her experience using Simple Use Reloadable Film Camera LomoChrome Metropolis

Widika is a model and actress based in Jakarta, Indonesia. And she loves traveling, go on culinary adventures, watch movies. Recently, she tried out our Simple Use Camera Metropolis and let's all read her thoughts & see her photos using this camera!

Hi, Widika! It’s great to have you here at Lomography! Tell us about yourself. What do you do?

Hi there! Thank you for having me! Good to be here with you guys. I'm a model and actress based in Jakarta, Indonesia. And I love traveling, going on culinary adventures, watching movies, reading a book with a cup of tea and learning new creative skills (pottery, baking, knitting, painting, sculpting).

How do you spend a typical week?

During my days off I try to stay active. I've been really into weightlifting, so you’ll find me at the gym in the mornings. Also I really love going to the cinema alone, catching the newest movie releases. If I'm not out and about visiting friends and family, I'm at home cooking and doing my daily routines which I always look forward to. It keeps me grounded.

How did you like shooting with the Simple Use Reloadable Film Camera LomoChrome Metropolis? What do you like most about it?

I love how compact and fun the Simple Use Reloadable Film Camera is. I love how you can mix and mach the gel filters for your own personal touch. You never know how funky your photos will turn out and its exciting!

Can you tell us about what you decided to shoot with the Simple Use Reloadable Film Camera LomoChrome Metropolis? What do you think about the results?

I was very curious about the Simple Use Reloadable Film Camera, and always wanted to try it out. By the look of it, this portable compact camera looks fun and easy to use with a cool built in flash and the gel filters. It's definitely one of a kind! And I like that about it. I love the results, and I'm looking forward to taking more memorable photos.

Do you have a favorite photo taken with this camera?

I love the smiling Kusir (coachman) with his batik beskap and his blangkon (traditional Javanese attire) on his carriage. I took this picture on a beautiful sunny day in Malioboro Yogyakarta. It was such a beautiful candid genuine smile coming from the coachman that automatically makes me smile. It radiates how truly friendly the locals in Yogyakarta are. And I'm all for that.

What do you think is the perfect situation for shooting this camera?

This camera is so nonchalant, every situation is always the perfect opportunity to take a quick shot of anything you want. That's the fun thing about it, anywhere, at anytime!

What is one thing you have been dying to explore further (anything from a place to a particular subject)? What is your dream project?

The world of entrepreneurship, haha I'm def curious about it since I'm surrounded by them. Since both of our industries are quite different but close to one another. I definitely would like to explore more and maybe one day start my own business as well. We shall see. At the moment, having my own brand will be the next dream project for sure.

Tell us about some of the current projects you are working on, do you have any projects in particular you are looking forward to?

Yes! There's this one project that's been on the works for couple of months now. Very excited about it, something completely different from the things I've done before but its my most personal one yet! All very new and very exciting as well. So please look forward to.

What’s coming up on the horizon? What’s in the works and what’s on your mind?

Besides this project that I'm working on, I'm in my quite era at the moment. Just minding my own business and really focusing on my internal growth and embracing the changes that comes with age and experience. Nurturing this space im in with kindness and gentleness. No longer forcing anything.

Keep on having fun! Explore every funky ideas you have and don't be afraid to share your point of view to the world. Magic happens outside of our comfort zone! So go out there and have fun!
