Penti II – 1960s Elegance in Half-Frame Format The Penti II is a stylish half-frame 35mm camera produced in East Germany by VEB Welta Kamera-Werk, later part of Pentacon, in the late 1960s. Known for its elegant design, compact size, and simple controls, it was especially popular among amateur photographers and marketed largely to women. It uses standard 35mm film in SL cassettes and captures 72 photos on a regular 36-exposure roll. The camera is equipped with a Meyer-Optik Trioplan 30mm f/3.5 lens and offers shutter speeds of 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, and 1/250 sec via a dial on top. Unlike the Penti I, the Penti II features a built-in selenium light meter, requiring no batteries, with a needle visible through a window on the camera. A charming and functional piece of design history! #PentiII #HalfFrameCamera #35mmFilm #MeyerOptik #VintageCameraLove #SeleniumMeter #FilmPhotography #AnalogVibes #ShootFilmStayBroke #EastGermanCamera #WomenInPhotography #CompactCamera #RetroAesthetic #Lomography #AnalogueIsNotDead
