Several contemporary Filipino visual artists collaborated for an exhibit at the Manila FAME 2012 design festival at SMX convention Center. The exhibit which is part of the Asian Cultural Council booth appropriates the traditional barrel man sculpture from Baguio City in northern Philippines. Originally, the barrel man is a wooden sculpture that shows a man with an erection once the barrel is lifted up or removed. The artists toyed on various playful ideas appropriating Filipino popular culture to convey a sense of wicked humor and social critique.
