While in Iraq I met with the very interesting Delband, who is an environmentalist - and there is much to do, both in poractise and in the mind of people. Which is understandable, because for many decades ptople had to think about their survival than about eco-topics. I also met with Siyabend, a great musician in Dohuk. Didn't have a flash, so the indoor shot is not to my liking. anyway. I like to go back, for sure. Much to discover.

Dakar became a place of happy returns in the last years. This is mainly due to a documentary project I am working on about emerging new architecture. But I like it there. It's a place in West Africa, where it is easy to get around and the people are very open. I ill be back.

The clouds vanished and the sun was setting low when the ROPOS guys pulled the ROV robot from the water onto the deck. Most of the time I was filming this procedure. But it was itching to do that on film. And I chose the best weather and light. The only problem, I can only hold one camera at a time. And you have to make it all right...

These were shot during Summer '23 in Cadiz, Spain. I went for Kodak Ultramax 400 in my trusty point n' shoot and there were mixed results: great for twilight and shadows, but dirty pink and grainy skies. Overall this amazing place speaks for itself!
