    I'm a little rusty, but if the web is sub-parallel to the ground or water surface, then this is a Tetragnathid, otherwise it is a garden spider.

    @neufotomacher They have a common name of 'banana spider' or 'golden orb weaver' because in just the right light, their webs look like gold. This must be a female, sometimes you see them with a smaller companion.

    @clownshoes The females in non-tarantula spiders are 2 to 5 times larger than the male. Definitely a female. Definitely some type of orb-weaver. Males can be potential meal after mating rituals in these higher web weavers.
